Discuss doctor office policy pertaining to care of patients

Case Scenario: Mr.Kong was a 40 year old man from Japan. He came to the Nash Doctor Office for his doctor's appointment. Mr.Kong arrived around 9:00 a.m. for his appointment. He sat there and waited patiently until he noticed the time. The time was 10:06 a.m he had already been there an hour. There were other patients who had arrived there after him and had already been seen. He then demanded to speak to someone. The nurse came out and apologized to him and also told him that he could not be seen because of his race. Staff education is important to team members because it improves their skills and knowledge of the job and builds their confidence in their abilities. Also staff education is important because it improves patient care. The mistake that was made on the doctor's end was the doctor's office did not follow their policy of treating and caring for everyone regardless of race, gender, ethics, etc. The doctor's office should always follow their policy pertaining to the care of ALL patients, no matter the race, gender, ethics, etc.
