Assignment task: I need help responding to the following answer:
After taking the Self-actualization assessment, I scored a 51 on the women's results. My score showed I am higher on the scale than the women from the college sample used in 1986 (Burger, 2019). The high score suggest I am getting closer to obtaining a higher level of self-actualization. I can certainly say not feel like I need anyone's approval to do anything or feel a certain way. I believe I am self-aware enough to accept and recognize my own weaknesses and to be able to express how I feel. I only wish I had this level of confidence when I was younger; back then, probably like most people, I always worried about what others thought of me and my biggest concern was to be liked.
The Distress Disclosure Index results for me came in lower than average at 26 (Burger, 2019). I mostly try to deal with my problems on my own. At times I feel like talking about what bothers me makes me feel worse. I don't ignore my problems, but when I do choose to share them with someone, it is a person I absolutely trust and confide in, which unfortunately is rare. During the times I feel stressed or I'm having a problem, I try to use problem- focused techniques to deal with them or I try to stay mentally or physically busy.
