Assignment:  Workforce Planning 
 
 You have been asked to plan for the recruitment and selection strategy  to attract 20 new tutors for a new college delivering business degree  courses in Peterborough in September 2014. Specifically you have been  asked to:
 
 1.    Recruitment 
 As a minimum you should:
-  Explain why it is important to have a clear recruitment and selection strategy
-  Evaluate the possible sources to attract external candidates 
-  Examine the role and methods of background checking
-  Recommend an application procedure, giving reasons for your suggestions
-  Write a job description and personnel specification (which should be annotated to explain your rationale)
-  Produce an advert for the positions (which should be annotated to explain the different inclusions)
 2.    Selection
 As a minimum you should:
-  Explain the role and importance of selection from a corporate and employee perspective
-  Evaluate the different options available for selection 
-  Make specific recommendations for an appropriate selection process, giving reasons for your ideas
-  Write an interview plan (if chosen) which incorporates sample questions to be asked (with reasons).
