Problem: There are three controversies that we should address to develop a foundation of understanding related to early ideas presented by philosophers. The first controversy to address is the mind-body problem that explores questions such as: Do humans have both a mind and a body? Are they separate or united? There are two basic camps to fall into here: monism and dualism. Please briefly explain the main differences between the two positions. How do we see this controversy today? The other two controversies are nature versus nurture and reductionism versus non-reductionism.
