Objective of this Discussion:
To compare and contrast the various components of the Canadian Victim's Bill of Rights, in order to identify the one you feel is most beneficial/significant for victims of crime.
For Discussion:
In 2012 with the introduction of Bill C-32 passed into law, the Canadian Victims Bill of Rights was enacted with stronger language that made assistance a fundamental right for victims that includes:
- The Right to information
- The Right to protection
- The Right to participation; and
- The Right to seek restitution.
Identify from the list above, the component you feel is the most beneficial/significant in terms of victim's support and give reasons for your answer.
