• The physician orders 250 mg of an injectable medication. The medication vial reads 500mg/ml. You prepare the injection and administer it to the patient. As you complete the injection you realize that you injected 1 ml of the medication. What is the problem with this injection? How do you manage the situation?
• Discuss Communication issues associated with non-English-speaking patients and instructions on specific routes for administration of medication. What might be difficult to explain? How would you get over these challenges? Common types that seem to pose challenges are lozenges, skin patches and suppositories.
