Stereotype example: Believing all Americans are arrogant and prideful.
Prejudice example: Assuming one likes loud hip-hop music because of their race.
Discrimination example: Choosing not to hire a woman because she desires to start a family.
Pluralism, in my opinion, doesn't currently exist in our society. Each culture remaining true to its own while coexisting with other cultures is very hard to achieve in current times, especially in America. Assimilation, however, does exist. Many Immigrants come to America and drop their prior beliefs and culture to take on that of the host countries just to fit in and minimize friction with locals. Segregation still occurs in our society but slightly different from the ways of the "Separate but Equal" doctrine. In military ranks, enlisted groups are often physically separated from Commissioned Officers in dining halls and areas designated to workout.
