Part I: Negotiable Instruments
Negotiable instruments have been a part of commerce since the Middle Ages and have become increasingly common in modern commerce and business transactions.
A. Explain at least 3 reasons why negotiable instruments are advantageous and important to commerce.

Part II: Holder in Due Course (HDC) Shelter Principle
The Shelter Principle related to HDC transactions is often controversial.
A. Discuss and explain at least 2 positive features/advantages of the Shelter Principle.

B. Discuss and explain at least 2 negative features/disadvantages of the Shelter Principle.

Part III. Holder in Due Course (HDC) Debate
Cosider the positives and negatives of HDC status.
A. Defend (argue in favor of) the following statement: The status of HDC for those who possess negotiable instsruments should be eliminated.
Discuss at least 2 reasons why HDC status should be elimiinated - be in depth and comprehensive.

B. Defend (argue in favor of) the following statement: The status of HDC for those who possess negotiable instsruments should NOT be eliminated.
Discuss at least 2 reasons why HDC status should NOT be elimiinated - be in depth and comprehensive.

You may use any of the already assigned articles and cases contained in the classroom, and there are many that will be useful for this paper. These existing resources will be the primary resources for your paper.
