Review the: Rural/Metro joins the AMR Family
Some years ago in Phoenix, AZ suburb Scottsdale, a new type of fire department was created: a for-profit, private fire department called Rural Metro. Today, Rural Metro provides many communities with fire protection and medical services across the United States.
This company, however, is not without controversy. Many firefighters employed by municipalities see Rural Metro as a threat because they offer cities fire protection at a much lower cost. Public sector firefighters think they may lose their jobs if a city Rural Metro.
What do you think? If you were the Mayor of a city would you consider contracting with a private sector fire department? What do you think are the and of using a company like Rural MEtro?
