Problem:
During the onboarding process, the Human Resources could have asked if there was any reasonable accommodation needed in order for employees to be more affective and productive at work. This would have allowed concerns to be identified, and Kareem would have known of company policies of frequent breaks. This would have also minimized any issues from being escalated to being a serious concern, and ABC Corporation could have allowed Kareem to practice his religious believes with a few conditions. The communication practices should have been made more open, and ABC could have stated their policies prior to hiring. This would then not lead to any conflict later on, and the situation could have had a different outcome in the end.
