Health action plan
The aim is to produce a 2000 word report (EXCLUDING REFERNECE LIST) on a disease (of your choice) in Australia, outlining the social, spatial and temporal epidemiology of the disease, its social and natural history, the human and economic costs of doing nothing, why we have failed to effectively prevent and control the disease in the past, and recommendations on how we could prevent and control the disease now and in the future (including details of relevant disease prevention and control models endorsed by the World Health Organisation). Please make sure to research and answer all these quesyions.
The point of this exercise is to be able to synthesise many hundreds of thousands of words into just a couple of thousand, and to do it intelligently and professionally, getting the key messages across in a clear and easily understood way. The audience of your report might be, for example, the Australian Government, or decision-makers at the World Health Organisation.
Out of the many papers you read, you will need to select three published journal articles to form the basis of specific case study material, in addition to other papers that you cite where relevant (e.g. on the epidemiological distributions and risk factors). Harvard style referencing is necessary including in-text citation, and a reference list is required.
