Think about teachers who you feel are excellent reading teachers. Our textbook reading this week provided 10 basic principles of reading and discussed the characteristics of an effective teacher. Use the information from the reading to reflect on reading instruction.
Respond to each of the following questions.
Which of the ten principles of teaching reading is the most important to you? Why did you choose this principle? How will this principle affect your instruction of reading?
Which of the ten principles of teaching reading was unfamiliar to you? How do you feel the principle may or may not affect your instruction of reading?
What do you feel is the most important characteristic of an effective teacher? Provide examples based on experience if possible
