A. How large would you make the "system" ( how far upstream and downstream from your organization ) , explain why ?
B. Do you need to include the attributes of your organization in that analysis explain why ?
2. There has been an evolution of MRP systems starting with "MRP" to "Closed Loop MRP" to "MRP-2" to "ERP".
A. Briefly discuss: the benefits/issues of using MRP in general , and then the added benefits/issues of going to each higher level system.
B. Describe the advantages and disadvantages of a MRP vs. a JIT system.
3. Effective and constantly improving supply chains have "relationship building" and "increasing levels of trust" as core features of their strategic plans.
Discuss : Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) and Supplier Relationship Management ( SRM ) and how they relate to those strategies . Include both technical and non-tech issues in the discussion.
4. We ( and out text ) discussed organizational "silos". Explain what silos are and how they impact effectiveness/performance within:
A. An organization itself. , include a discussion on cross-functional-problem solving.
B. A supply chain , include a discussion on " linkage of goals".
5. In a finely tuned chain where the response to final-customer-demand is timely and accurate :
A. Describe how the CPFR model helps to improve that response.
B. Briefly explain how better application of current technologies can enhance a supply chain getting faster and more accurate demand information.
