Problem: Jane Doberman is 67-year-old Caucasian female who presents to the ED last night complaining of blood in her stool. According to the patient, she noticed a foul odor during her bowel movements for the last 2 days but found black tarry stool last night. Patient stated that she has been having back pain for the last 3 months due to a fall while walking her dog and has been taking over-the-counter Ibuprofen daily for pain management. The patient is currently in the telemetry department and it is 1630. Past medical history includes hyperlipidemia and hypertension. Occult blood stool positive. CT abdomen negative. Patient admitted to medical surgical. Patient scheduled for EGD the next morning
