Assignment Task: This is about Literary Analysis about a story!
In this essay, word count should be 1000-1500, and explain how theme works in relationship to (choose only one or two themes, not more) in the list of literary devices below. Please don't forget to use evidence from the story in the link given!
Here is the general question you should answer in your thesis: What main theme connects directly to one or two of these?
List of literary devices and or themes: (Note, you will create your own thesis, main argument about the story you pick, and then you will connect it, with research, to one of these elements below.)
- character,
- historical context,
- tone/voice,
- symbols,
- setting,
- point of view,
Narrative Structure (Including a discussion of the three act arc, and rising and falling action, climax and resolution)
Your essay should include the following:
An introduction that uses the "funnel" technique - general to specific.
A thesis statement-at the end of the first paragraph.
Body paragraphs, each should be supporting or proving your thesis. Your body paragraphs should also contain strong topic sentences that relate to your claims.
