A sixth grade teacher in your school is having serious problems with classroom management. She had been a math lab teacher before she took this position. After three months of chaos, a chair has came flying out of the classroom and down the hall. You hear that report from the teacher who teaches next door. This teacher's annual evaluation is still months away. However, due to student safety and the atmosphere in that classroom, you feel it is time for you to move in.
1. In light of the article, "Beyond the Scoreboard," how will you begin conversations with this sixth grade teacher?
2. Will the tool your state uses to evaluate teachers be helpful for this conversation? If so, in what way will it be helpful? If not, how would you propose to change that tool to make it more helpful for this teacher?
3. How will you begin to document this teacher's performance (crucial if litigation were to occur)?
200 to 250 words.
