Discussion:
I. Chose a published database containing government data; U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The chosen file must have several variables in order to conduct the required analysis stated below.
Bureau of Labor Statistics
Table Mass layoff events and initial claimants for unemployment insurance, October 2006 to September 2010, seasonally adjusted
https://www.bls.gov/news.release/mmls.t01.htm
II. Conduct a descriptive analysis on any two interval/ratio variables you wish. Explain the output.
III. Conduct three different hypothesis tests of your choice using appropriate variables from the file (Note: enter three different tests; not run one test on three different variables). In each case, state the variables being tested as well as the hypothesis, decision, and conclusion.
a.) Hypothesis Test Two Samples
b.) Chi Square
c.) ANOVA
IV. Develop a model to predict an interval/ratio variable using at least two other variables. Use the Multiple Regression document and state the regression model and which variables are or are not significant. Also, use the model to make a prediction by making up values for each of the independent variables.
