Assignment task:
We will discuss a bit of the marketing material in our class discussion board this week, so these notes will focus on the second half the chapter on "Advertising and the Media." In your notes, please write down the eleven questions on page 343 in the box entitled "Questions to Consider in Evaluating Advertisements." Once you have all of them written, grab a magazine or go to YouTube and look at an advertisement. Go through the advertisement and practice these questions and think about the results. Consider whether the ad makes legitimate claims or falls into some of the fallacies that we studied earlier in the year. After you have practiced the questions on a few ads of your own choosing, place your notes in front of you and complete the following questions.
