Based on the outrageous true story, Charlie Wilson's War shows how one congressman who loved a good time, one Houston socialite who loved a good cause and one renegade CIA agent who loved a good fight conspired to bring about the largest covert operation in history.
Students will write a review where they make a compelling argument directed towards a political science professor for why the film should be shown to their class.
Students should provide a short summary of the film (i.e. no more than ½ a page) and then discuss (1) how the film relates to concepts discussed in the course and (2) how the film relates to contemporary or historical political phenomenon.
Students are evaluated on these two criteria and more generally, by demonstrating their understanding of course concepts.
These reviews must not exceed 3 pages in length (double-spaced with normal font and margins) and should be no shorter than 2 pages in length.
No citations are required for these reviews; however, they will be automatically submitted to Turnitin.com to evaluate for plagiarism.
