Discover the risk factors for myocardial infarction

Discover the risk factors for myocardial infarction using biostatistics.

Explain A case-control study was conducted to evaluate the interrelationships among several risk factors for myocardial infarction (heart disease). Info on smoking status was collected from a total of 791 cases and controls. Existing cigarette smoking, distinct as smoking within the past three months, was reported by 158 of the 367 cases as well as 111 of the 424 controls.

1) Set up the appropriate two-by-two table and compute a measure of association between current smoking and myocardial infarction

2) Compute a measure of the excess risk of myocardial infarction in cigarette smokers that is attributable to their smoking

3) State any expectations that you make in performing these calculations and give interpretations for both calculations
