Problem:
One characteristic of raising healthy children understands how to best give correction when they make poor choices or behave in improper ways. Over the years, there has been much debate over most effective form of the punishment for children. As part of this debate, you’ve to take in consideration operant conditioning as this is the basis for how effective correction works. Operant conditioning must be considered when choosing how to best administer corrective actions whether parents choose to employ corporal punishment, loss of privileges, or time outs.
Required:
1. Describe the differentiations between positive and negative punishment. Write down the factors which make punishment effective.
2. Critically discuss the effectiveness of the corporal punishment and discuss when you think it must be used.
3. Critically discuss how culture affects the type of punishment used.
4. Provide reasons in support of your responses which are based on your readings and personal experiences.
