Problem: Discuss your impression of the presentation of masculine and feminine as presented in the reading assignments. Did you find the archetypes helpful and did they fit people you know or not? Try to reflect that the archetypes aren't about what you do in life (taking care of kids, going to work, etc.) but about a deeper motivation a stance toward life. In other words, the Father/Mother want to take care of life, the Seeker/Companion want to engage with life, the Amazon/Warrior want to conquer or succeed at life, and the Mediatrix/Sage want to understand life. Note too that Jungian psychology presumes a basic difference between men and women, again not in what you do (for men and women can do many things) but in that basic posture toward life.
