Assignment task:
In April 2021, Jack Daniel bought a freehold property in Kingston. The property had been carved out of an estate owned by Geogia Kate who, finding herself unable to afford its upkeep, decided to sell a piece of land behind her own house. Access to Jack's house is via a gravelled lane crossing over Georgia property, where Geogia's parents had lived before they died some years ago. Jack's purchase included a barn, in which he planned to run courses in pottery and metalwork for a living, alongside a house where the students would stay and he would live. He intends to build a large kiln and forge and to create parking spaces for ten cars.
Since moving in, Jack has discovered the following.
A man called Lewis arrives and tells Jack that he is Georgia's estranged husband who had lived there until he broke up with her in March 2021. He explains that he contributed half the purchase price to the estate she bought in 2011, and demands half the sale price from Jack. Georgia had never mentioned a husband.
