In a test lab, two different Rockwell hardness (Rc) testers are operated. One Rockwell hardness tester has a dial indicator; the other has a digital indicator.
Both of the hardness testers are calibrated on a daily basis. The data listed below is from the C scale for the first 10 days of February:
For the Dial Indicator: X-bar = 45.9 R-bar = 0.16
For the Digital Indicator: X-bar = 46.1 R-bar = 0.34
Find the following for both the dial and the digital indicator (1) the UCL for X, (2) the LCL for X, and (3) the UCL for R. Interpret your results.
