Developed a new screening test for lung cancer

Problem: Dr. Seuss recently developed a new screening test for lung cancer. To determine how clinically useful his test is, he performed the test on 100 patients who were diagnosed with lung cancer and 100 patients who were not diagnosed with lung cancer. Out of the lung cancer cases, 90 of them had a positive screening test. However, 40 patients who did not have lung cancer tested positive as well. Dr. Seuss later decided to further confirm the diagnoses for all 200 patients by reviewing their chest x-rays. He had Dr. Dolittle look at the chest x-rays as well. Dr. Seuss and Dr. Dolittle agreed on the chest x-ray results for 152 patients. Their agreement by chance was 53%. Dr. Seuss's lung cancer screening test correctly identified 90% of the patients who truly have lung cancer. Group of answer choices True False
