Assessment: Internet Technologies
1. This Project is the culmination of all ‘Internet Technologies' study and laboratory activities in MTD219. Students are to view the project as the platform to apply the principles of written communication, interactive media techniques, and scripting knowledge that they have acquired through the course.
The project task is to design, outline, and develop a microsite based on a specific theme. The distribution of marks for this project is described in Table 1, in Section 3.
2. ECA Project Specifications
Your ECA Project consists of appraising, conceptualising, developing a microsite based on ONE of these given themes and a 3-Pages report.
i) Festivals & Events
ii) Hobbies
iii) Travel
iv) Personal Portfolio
Your microsite must meet the following technical criteria:
i) Develop RWD (Responsive Web Design) for your microsite and use the bootstrap framework to implement it.
ii) Apply the Easel canvas library to implement a suitable interactive application/game in one of the sub-page.
iii) All webpages except item (ii) must respond to the following screen sizes
a. <768px
b. ≥768px <992px
c. ≥992px
iv) Ensure the cross-browser compatibility for Firefox (>32.0) and Google Chrome (>37), and compare briefly the responsiveness of the two different platforms.
v) Ensure the microsite consist of a home page and 3 other sub-pages.
Your report (Arial - font size 12) should discuss on the following area:
i) Explain the message that you want to communicate through your microsite.
ii) Outline and discuss the use of client-side technologies in your microsite.
iii) Discuss how the design of your microsite is optimized for various platforms.
