Problem
Develop an in-depth child custody evaluation outline by completing the following:
1. Complete the referral question section and background history section of the report.
2. Indicate which methodology you would use (including psychological testing).
3. Design a format for your evaluation that answers the referral question. Remember, the referral question section in a forensic evaluation differs from one in a clinical evaluation and often includes information from the court order. This is an outline, so it is not necessary for you to include details of evaluate history and other data.
The length of a child custody evaluation report depends on the number of people involved in the evaluation, state laws, preference of judges, and other factors, and therefore can be difficult to determine. The report should be long enough to answer the court's referral question yet short enough to facilitate the work of the trier of fact (the judge).
