Develop an asthma plan that is approved by the preceptor

Problem: Create a list of at least five personal objectives for this course. These objectives need to be SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timed. Sample Objectives: Develop an asthma plan that is approved by the preceptor with the patient based on peak flow by Topic 16. Adjustment of plan/medication for diabetes management identified as appropriate by the preceptor 4/5 times by Topic 8. Correctly (as identified by preceptor) perform a diabetic foot exam with monofilament and document appropriately for reimbursement by Topic 8. Writing Objectives: When writing your objectives, avoid using words that are difficult to measure, such as improve, increase confidence, become more proficient, etc. How would you know if you were "improving" or becoming "more proficient"? For example, an objective that stated, "Examine and document a routine visit accomplished in 30 minutes 8/10 times" would be a measurable alternative. Do not simply state measurement as being "per preceptor." Specify which outcome the preceptor will measure. Objectives may include any clinical skills and patient experiences that you wish to accomplish in addition to academic or professional goals. Be sure to review the clinical objectives and integrate them into your goals. Simply copying the clinical objectives is prohibited. APA style
