Assignment task:
Work with your preceptor to assess the organization for the required resources needed for the strategic plan if the change proposal were to be implemented. Review your strategic plan and determine what resources would be needed if the change proposal were to be implemented. Write a list of at least four resources you will need to implement your change proposal.
The assignment will be used to develop a written implementation plan.
My strategic plans are
1. Awareness and Education: Conduct workshops and training sessions to educate nurses about compassion fatigue, its symptoms, and the importance of self-care. This will help in early identification and intervention.
2. Policy Changes: Incorporate mandatory breaks during shifts for nurses to engage in self-care activities. This could include mindfulness exercises, peer support sessions, or simply time away from the clinical environment.
3. Support Systems: Establish a support system, such as counseling services, for nurses experiencing compassion fatigue. Encourage open discussions about mental health to break down any existing stigma.
4. Regular Assessment: Implement regular check-ins or surveys to assess the mental health of the nurses. This will help track the intervention's progress and make necessary adjustments.
5. Recognition and Rewards: Recognize and reward self-care efforts and achievements to boost morale and encourage the adoption of these practices.
Implementation: This plan will be part of the capstone project change proposal. The plan's success will be evaluated based on feedback from the nurses and improvements in their reported levels of compassion satisfaction
