Objective:
Develop a detailed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for planning and executing a three-day Conference in Toronto, Canada. The WBS should delineate all of the deliverables required to accomplish the conference successfully. A budget and estimated resources are NOT required.
Background:
This conference is aimed at gathering academics, professionals, and students interested in project management to exchange knowledge, discuss advancements in the field, and network. It will cover a range of topics including, but not limited to, Agile methodologies, risk management, team dynamics, and project lifecycle management.
Assignment Requirements:

o Theme: Advancements in Project Management
o Duration: Three days
o Participants: Approximately 300 attendees (academics, professionals, and students)
o Venues: Multiple locations in Toronto, including a main conference hall, breakout rooms, and a dining area.
o Content:
Keynote Speeches: Expert insights on emerging trends and advancements in project management.
Academic Presentations: Research findings and theoretical advancements in project management. Panel Discussions: Conversations and Q&A sessions on project management methodologies, challenges, and solutions.
Workshops: Practical sessions on utilizing project management tools and methodologies.
Networking Sessions: Opportunities for attendees to interact and build professional relationships.
2. Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Components: Develop a hierarchical WBS that outlines the primary, secondary, and tertiary deliverables, including but not limited to:
o Project Management
o Venue Management
o Program Development
o Marketing & Communications
o Registration & Attendee Management
o Vendor & Supplies Management
o Risk Management
o Budget & Finance
3. Deliverables:
o A comprehensive, detailed WBS in a visual format (chart or diagram).
o A brief report explaining the logic and rationale behind the structuring of the WBS, along with any assumptions made during the development of the WBS.
4. Format:
o Apply a hierarchical structure with suitable numbering for each level.
o Label each level and component of the WBS distinctly.
o Use Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or another appropriate diagram-making tool to create a graphical representation of the WBS. You may also, if you wish, use MSProject.
