You are the newly appointed advisor to the State Minister for Futures and keen to impress. The Minister has been asked to convene a high level thinktank across four key government departments: health; urban planning; climate change; transport. The focus of the thinktank is life in urban environments post COVID-19. Outline the key issues that the Minister will need to address to ensure that the community can keep healthy and well both physically and 4 mentally. Consider the following in determining the key issues (but don't feel you have to be limited to these):
- Promotion of community health - both the immediate acute concerns regarding the virus and longer-term chronic disease reduction
- Transport - the continued use of public transport for daily commuting and greater uptake of cycling and walking
- The need to keep people physically active and socially connected even if there is a requirement to be physically distancing in their local neighbourhoods
- The implications (especially related to equity) of working from home
- Equity across the generations and the socio-economic divide.
