Determine the value of the electric potential


A spherical shell of mass 2.7 kg and radius 5.0 cm is given a charge of -7.0 mC and is held fixed in space. A second small spherical ball is brought to a spot 3 cm from the surface of the shell, released and moves away. The ball is small enough to be treated as a point charge, has a mass of 95 g and a charge of 4.0 microCouloumbs.

a. Determine the value of the electric potential at the initial and final position.

b. determine the position of the ball when it has a speed of 200 m/s using a reference point.

c. calculate the acceleration of the ball when it is 3 cm from the surface and again at the position determined in part b
