Problem:
The team introduced skill sets of increasing complexity once a foundation of basic routines was in place. These included management of external memory compensation devices, simple meal planning and preparation, basic home management, and community access focusing on safety, emotional adjustment, and decision-making. Although implementing external memory compensation devices was a routine in and of itself, it also became an important step within other routines. To determine the best compensatory memory device, Neil first experimented with several possibilities ranging in complexity from a simple day planner to a smartphone.
