Consider the reaction Cl2 +2NO =>2NOCl
The experimental rate law is d[Cl2]/dt = -k[NO]2[Cl2] where k = .0132 M-2s-1
1. Assume the reactants are present in stoichiometric ratio i.e.[Cl2]0 =a0 [NO]0=2a0 and that x is the concentration of Cl2 that has reacted at time t. Obtain the integrated rate law.
2. Determine the half life of the reaction if a0 = 4 M. Determine and comment on the length of time required for the concentration of Cl2 to decrease from an initial concentration of 4 M to 1.8 M.
