Assignment:
Construct a scatterplot, find the value of the linear correlation coefficient r, and find the critical values of r from Table A-6 using ?? =0 .05. Determine whether there is sufficient evidence to support a claim of a linear correlation between the two variables. (Save your work because the same data sets will be used in Section 10-3 exercises.)
Brain Size and Intelligence Listed below are brain sizes (in cm3) and Wechsler IQ scores of subjects (based on data from StatLib and "Brain Size, Head Size, and Intelligence Quotient in Monozygotic Twins," by Tramo, et al., Neurology, Vol. 50, No. 5). Is there sufficient evidence to conclude that there is a linear correlation between brain size and IQ score? Does it appear that people with larger brains are more intelligent?
