Question: Wikipedia: The European Union is a geo-political entity covering a large portion of the European continent. It is founded upon numerous treaties and has undergone expansions that have taken it from 6 member states to 27, a majority of states in Europe. On 1 November 1993, under the third Delors Commission, the Maastricht Treaty became effective, creating the European Union with its pillar system, including foreign and home affairs alongside the European Community.
Despite a recent improvement in EU growth (last year GDP growth was 2.9%) there are concerns over fundamental problems with the EU economy. What do you think are these fundamental problems with the EU? What is the future of the EU?
