Let us design a power electronic system, referred to as ‘the device' below, which has the following specifications:
- The device is supplied from a single-phase wall outlet of 220 V rms, 60 Hz (through terminals I1, I2).
- The device can generate a fixed 10 V dc (through terminals O1, O2).
- The device can also produce a variable 0 to 40 V dc (through terminals O3, O4).
- The device can also produce two fixed 60 V, 60 Hz ac outputs, that can even be connected in series to produce a fixed 120 V ac (through terminals O5, O6, O7).
- The device can also produce a variable 0 to 60 V, 60 Hz ac output (through terminals O8, O9).
- The device should be able to supply two loads (each, a variable resistor with a minimum resistance of 10 ohms) simultaneously, when connected to either of two outputs mentioned above.
Your Task:
1- Design the circuit and select the appropriate components for that circuit to fulfill the requirements of the device.
2- Verify your design by MATLAB simulations. (Note that different sections of the design can be simulated separately to make the simulation faster.)
