Aim
Design and implement a simple website to demonstrate the knowledge gained so far in the course, mainly in using JavaScript and CSS.
Introduction
The Bay of Plenty, a region on New Zealand's North Island, is known for its volcanic landscape, beach resorts and Maori villages. Its name comes from the abundant resources discovered by explorer James Cook in an 18th-century expedition. The city of Rotorua is famed for hot springs and mud pools, including the nearby geothermal reserves of Waiotapu and Wai mangu.
The sunny climate and beachy atmosphere of the Bay of Plenty make it a place to have fun. Laugh with the locals while you sample the easy-going lifestyle.
Bay of Plenty has many tourist attractions and travel activities with something to suit all ages and budgets. From adrenaline-pumping adventure to a relaxing day out, you need never be bored in Bay of Plenty.

Instructions
Build a website of 5 pages that comprehensively advertise the things the tourists MUST DO, PLACES TO VISIT, possibilities for ACCOMMODATION, places WHERE TO EAT, different EVENTS during the year and information as to how to GET THERE. Include some IMAGE GALLERIES and a NEWSLETTER SIGNUP.
Students are also reminded to read pages related to assessment rules including rules for dishonest work in the Student handbook. As a student, you are allowed to seek advice from any source, but your written submission must be your OWN work, except where clearly referenced.
Tasks
Part A: Documentation
- The title of the site, a short explanation of its purpose, and the target audience of the site. Also include the URL of your website.
- A site map showing the navigational links between all the pages, and how the site is divided.
- Page designs for each page showing the layout and technical details of the media to be used on the page (this does NOT mean screenshots of the web pages).
- Each page must have relevant topic name at the top.
- A short explanation on where and how JavaScript has been used on the site.
- A short explanation on where and how CSS has been used on the site.
Part B: Website
The website must be your own original and unique work and is required to contain:
- At least 5 pages.
- Four or more appropriate sections.
- An index.html page - the first page that the users see when they look at your website.
- Navigational menus for easy access to your information.
- Standard page elements: titles, headings that improve search engine readiness.
- Unique and original design theme: suitable text font, background colours and images.
- Animations, at least one using JavaScript.
- Appropriate images, videos/audios that relate to the text content.
- Meaningful links - links to other resources and websites relevant to the theme.
In addition:
- Use JavaScript appropriately (use as much external code as you can) :
- Using JavaScript for form validation.
- Using JavaScript for other functionalities.
- Use external CSS appropriately.
- Make sure you adhere to web design good practices.
- You also need to provide two versions of your website style by using different external CSS files and allow the users to switch between the versions.
