The purpose of this assignment is for you to think about research methods in social psychology.
If you were a researcher interested answering the question of whether playing hard to get makes a woman more attractive to a man how might you work through the steps of the scientific method to find out the answer?
For this mini-project you will provide responses to the following:
1) Develop a hypothesis.
2) Design an experiment to test that hypothesis. Be sure to identify the theoretical stimulus and response, the independent and dependent variables, and provide operational definitions.
3) Describe how you would evaluate the data.
4) How might you take a correlational approach to this question?
5) What problems might you encounter in understanding cause and effect if you did take a correlational approach? Responses should be written directly into Blackboard.
