For the part show in the following drawing you are to design a single fixture plate sufficient to locate, support and retain the part for all necessary machining operations.
It has been decided to build a multi-station sequential fixture to minimize work in process and reduce setup time Due to the surfacing and outside machining requirements at least two different clamping schemes will be required.
Production volume is estimated to be -250 parts/month but follow on orders are not guaranteed.
Turn in:
1. A complete list of purchased parts and materials (BOM) required for the fixture.
2. An outline of the Production Plan for the part, including fixturing. tooling and operations.
3. Fully detailed drawings required for manufacturing the fixture. This should include as necessary:
a) An assembly drawing
b) Separate drawings for each custom manufactured component.
4. Each drawing should include:
a) Title block
b) All necessary tolerances
c) Material
d) Any secondary operations
