Problem:
As a human resources generalist, one of your first assignments will be to work as part of a team to design a new staffing strategy. The current staffing method has been perceived as both costly and ineffective. Currently, resumes from applicants at a single university are scanned, and a number of individuals are selected for on-campus interviews. Then, a number of applicants are invited to the facility, where they are given another interview. After all the interviews have been completed, offers are made and applicants are hired. Applicants have historically reacted very well to the hiring process. Unfortunately, the selection method has not been yielding good performers over the past few years.
