The last 50 years has seen significant technological advances which affect our everyday lives. These advances extend to various fields of professional practice including forensic psychology. Mobile communication such as cell phone calls, texting, instant messaging, and even social network pages, allow for forensic psychology professionals to be accessible at all times if they choose. Likewise client expectation that treatment professionals are at their beck and call, may be one consequence of integrating the use of technology in forensic settings. Professionals in forensic psychology adapt to changing technologies as with any new tool that they may shape their profession. Using technology as an instrument to deliver services in forensic psychology may unintentionally influence how ethical codes and guidelines are implemented.
