A. Describe your academic and professional/career goals, including certification, licensure, and/or advanced study. Where does health promotion/health education fit into your career goals? For example, would it be a benefit to have CHES certification? Another type of certification? Does your chosen career require licensure? Be as specific as possible.
B. Identify your philosophy, interests and desired skills, and connect to them your academic and professional goals, including responsibilities and possible job settings. Consider future trends that would align with your skills/interest/goals. What impact do you hope to make?
C. Develop a timeline of SMART objectives for the next 5-7 years: Smart, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-oriented. (Ex. After graduating from UC, I plan to spend a year working in/at ______ before applying to graduate school in _______.) You can format this component as a timeline/chart if you so choose.
D. Identify professional and informational resources available to find and enhance academic and career opportunities: what guidelines and/or organizations will you look to for guidance and career opportunities?
E. Finally, how will you use this 5-7 year plan? What is your strategy for reviewing/revisiting your progress toward your goals?
