Assignment task:
Part A: Drawing on discussions of biology, gender socialization, and the social construction of gender in the chapter, where do gender differences, as we know them, come from? Comment briefly: how do newer concepts such as transgenderism and gender as being non-binary fit into the discussion of gender origins?
Part B: After reviewing the material on gender inequality in the chapter including theoretical explanations, describe why you think gender inequality persists. Be sure to consider and include at least one sociological theory (Functionalism, Conflict, or Feminist etc.) in your answer.
