Review the below information, then provide:
1. What is One area of strength in their vision statement and Google site?
2. What are Two recommendations to revise their vision statement and Google site?
3. Describe where you see yourself as a leader in five to ten years.
I see myself opening a daycare for young children with also a homeschool option as well. I would like to hire a few teachers' assistance to help me with curriculum and daily task.
I. Choose five personal values from section 2.3 in the course textbook that you will use in your leadership role and describe how you will demonstrate them.
Respect- I must be able to respect families, staff, and peers. This will promote an environment where I'm trustworthy to families and have great communication to build a relationship with them.
Diversity- I will meet the needs of the students and their families with their ethnicity and diversity.
Compassion- I must be able to show compassion and listen effectively to them while having understanding.
Safety- The environment must always be clean and safe for children and staff members.
Competence- I will lead by example so teachers know what is expected of them and will also be confident in our school with my leadership. I will stay organized, so I get things done in a timely manner and keep the school organized as well.
II. Explain your purpose, objective, and focus as a leader.
Purpose-My purpose is to create a safe and happy environment for little ones to learn and grow in while learning through play.
Objective-My objective is to ensure that my staff is highly trained and that we are meeting NAEYC requirements and are following all rules for DCF to keep our school successful and our environment safe.
Focus-My focus is making sure that all staff members, families, and students feel valued and cared for while in our care.
III. Describe how you will measure success as a leader.
I will measure my success as a leader by positive feedback from my employees and students. I want to make sure the children in our care leave and arrive happy and ready to learn. I also want to keep up with their learning to make sure that they are thriving in our care. I want to make sure that my employees are happy working for me and always feel appreciated.
• Develop three measurable goals written as vision statements. For example, "As a director of a childcare center I will create family partnerships using monthly meetings that help families understand the importance of home-school relationships."
As a leader of an early childcare center, I will treat everyone with respect and kindness regardless of their religion, sex, or race. Everyone will feel welcome when they walk through the doors. As a leader of an early childcare center, I will create healthy relationships with our families by having quarterly events and by communicating with them daily about their child through an app sending pictures, updates, and messages. As a leader of an early childcare center, I will encourage my employees to continue their education and will help them all stay up to date with annual hours, certifications and have equal access to further education.
