Problem
As we discussed in class yesterday, Linux X11 display server has tons of issues, and it is part of what holds Linux back as a platform. Wayland is intended as a simpler replacement for X11. It's easier to develop and maintain. GNOME and KDE are expected to be ported to it. Wayland is a protocol for a compositor to talk to its clients as well as a C library implementation of that protocol.
Tasks
In 1-2 pages, using available resources, describe what this new display server has to offer, especially in terms of security, driver support, and making displaying graphics on Linux systems more modern. The paper should be of academic quality and conform to the APA formatting style.
