B) Resource conservation and renewable energy are crucial in addressing global challenges like climate change. Resource conservation is important for sustainability, ensuring that natural resources like forests and water are used wisely, not stupidly. Conservation not only protects ecosystems and wildlife habitats by reducing pollution, but it is also essential for preserving biodiversity. Conservation also contributes to improved air and healthy running water, which reduces the risk of natural disasters. Renewable energy relates to sources like solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal powers, which can reduce global carbon emissions to combat climate change. Having renewable energy sources can lead to energy security, allowing these resources to be distributed globally to other countries that may need them. Renewable energy can also offer opportunities to expand energy access in rural or remote areas by improving education, healthcare outcomes, and life. Looking at the community level, many approaches like recycling programs and conservation efforts are being used. Engaging local communities in conservation efforts like wildlife habitats and forests will involve reforestation projects for endangered species or wildlife. Comprehensive community recycling programs like Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle here in Hawaii would reduce waste that is polluted into waters and land while promoting recycling and composting. At the national level, sectors and governments invest in research opportunities with local universities to develop new technologies and sustainable agriculture practices. At the international level, the Paris Agreement on climate change addresses global environmental issues with multiple United Nations countries. Some practices that can be adopted to reduce the ecological footprint would be to conserve energy and use renewable energy in your home or school.
C) Renewal energy provides reliable power supplies and fuel diversification, enhancing energy security and lowering fuel spill risk while reducing the need for imported fuels. Renewable energy also helps conserve the nation's natural resources (Why renewable energy, 2021).
Renewable energy sources would be solar energy, produced by sunlight, which converts energy from the sun into power. Environmental stewardship is the responsible use and protection of the environment through actions taken by individuals, groups, or networks (Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability, 2024). One practice that can reduce the ecological footprint is recycling as much as possible.
