Cruise ships are notorious for outbreaks of both respiratory and gastrointestinal (GI) illnesses. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have become exponentially more aware of the ways in which pathogens are spread, especially in high traffic, high touch environments.
(i) Describe at least two factors that make microbial transmission much easier on cruise ships and (ii) two ways in which you believe this could be reduced.
