Problem
A. What is your Food Story? Think of a tradition or practice you have involving food and] or beverages that you feel provides you with a physical, mental, or social health benefit. Describe both the tradition (what is the food/beverage, what is the purchasing/harvesting/preparing process, who is involved, etc.) and the benefits you receive through this tradition. How is this an example of influence by culture? Remember that when you are influenced by culture, it doesn't just mean religion, nation of origin, etc, but it can be the influence of any group you associate with. For example, there is family culture, there is DSC culture, etc.
B. What is your Food Vision? Think of a practice or way of consuming foods and/or beverages that interests you and that you have become aware of either through this assignment or another resource. Describe this practice/tradition/way of consuming foods and/or beverages. Include at least two benefits you would like to receive and at least two obstacles to practicing this. Avoid repeating your responses from the sections above. If there are one or more concepts from one of those sections you wish to write about, be sure to thoroughly expand on your prior responses. Remember that when you are influenced by culture, it doesn't just mean religion, nation of origin, etc, but it can be the influence of any group you associate with. For example, there is family culture, there is DSC culture, etc.
