Assignment Task: Choose a professional sports team (e.g. the Toronto Rock) or an entertainment offering (e.g. the Toronto International Film Festival) and finish the following chart regarding the promotion of that team or event. You are required to find five different media options to help with the promotion of your team/event; however, no more than one option can be from TV and no more than two can be from online (internet) options. You will need to research online to complete this activity.

Sports team or Entertainment event: Coachella

For each of your 5 media choices provide the following information. Make a separate section for each media choice and answer these 6 questions for each:

 1. Name of the media choice as well as the specific section of that option if applicable (e.g. during what specific TV show; what specific radio station or magazine; what section of a specific newspaper; what type of outdoor or transit advertising; what specific website or app; etc.)

2. Research and describe the target market/viewer/user of the media choice (e.g. what is the profile of customers who read the Toronto Star or who listen to VIBE 105 (105.5 FM) or watch Sportsnet TV)?

3. What type of promotion will you be using (e.g. commercial; banner ads; YouTube video; magazine ad, promotional interviews, etc.)

4. Describe the target market segment(s) for your team or entertainment event for this promotion (at least seven descriptors, no more than four from demographics) and why it matches well with the media choice.

5. What aspects of the team/event will you highlight within the promotion and why, keeping in mind the target segment you are trying to reach.

6. Discuss why you feel this is an effective choice for promoting your team/event.
